Privacy policy
For the effective and proper execution of our research project, which is conducted by Josephine Irmer at University of Bamberg, it is necessary that the University of Bamberg processes your personal data as the responsible party. This means that we store the individual (personal) data voluntarily provided by you for a period of at least 10 years based on the principle of good scientific practice for the aggregated publication of the data in a publication and then delete it.
Purpose of Data Processing
Your personal data will be collected anonymously, so it will not be possible to associate it with your identity. The data is processed exclusively for scientific research purposes (Art. 2 para. 1 sentences 1 and 4 BayHSchG). The collected data will be stored and processed without personal identifiers for studies related to the research topic described above and may be published in scientific publications as well as used in related studies in the interest of scientific research.
Legal Basis of Data Processing
Data processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1) (a) and Art. 7 GDPR and is therefore based on your consent. Participation in this study is voluntary. Non-participation has no negative consequences for you. You may also withdraw your consent at any time. However, please note that such a request can only be fulfilled as long as a personal reference to the data is still possible.
Collection and storage of personal data
The following personal data is collected as part of our research project:
- Age
- Gender identification
- Highest educational qualification
- Country of residence
Data Storage and Retention Periods
Anonymous data is stored on access-restricted IT systems at the University of Bamberg. The data will be retained until the end of the project, but no longer than 10 years, to enable its use in scientific publications in accordance with good scientific practice guidelines. The deletion of the data is also reviewed every five years.
Rights of the data subject
You have the right to information from the controller (Josephine Irmer – josephine-hanna.irmer@stud.uni-bamberg.de) regarding the personal data concerned (Art. 15 GDPR) the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), the right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR), the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Officer of the University of Bamberg (Art. 38(4) GDPR) as well as with the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection as the competent supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Please note that we can only comply with such requests until the point at which your data is anonymized. After anonymization, it is no longer possible to establish a personal reference, and therefore your request can no longer be linked to your data.

You may withdraw your consent at any time and request the complete deletion of your data in writing or in text form by contacting Josephine Irmer – josephine-hanna.irmer@stud.uni-bamberg.de. In the interest of data minimization, the data will be anonymized as early as possible. This may limit your ability to exercise your right of withdrawal.
Giveaway
After completing the survey, you have the option of providing your email address and participating in our giveaway. The email address will not be linked to the survey results, but will only be used for participation in the competition.
